The small shop sat a street away from the fountain, a pretty little thing painted bright cheery blue on the outside and calm beige inside. The windows were dusty and dirty, which left the inside quite a surprise. The soft tinkle of a bell alerts the owner to customers. The main room is FILLED with books. Books line the shelves. Books cover the tables and chairs. Stacks of books sit against the walls, creating a maze in the tiny space. A ladder is attatched to one wall stuffed with, you guessed it.. books. Wheels on the bottom allowed the ladder to slide. Another ladder against the back wall remained stationary, leading to an attic bedroom that was filled with more books and a simple matress and desk. A large desk near the door was the only semi-clear space, with papers of transaction records for borrowed books. There was no sign of the owner...

Had headed back out after his short return to Kiilk, having set the still unchecked bag, as well as the other odds and ends he had picked up, within a storage chest in his residence. He held the katana he had procured from the coccoon in his right hand as usual, the blade resting casually over his shoulder as he walked with his usual absurdly composed, yet strangely threatening air. He had heard of a shop that might be able to help him with his query... Moreso than that money-grabbing female dog, Shaddy. if it were just any random hunk of metal, that is indeed where he would have taken it... But due to it's strange properties, a store of knowledge seemed to be his best bet. He could most likely pick up a sheathe, or material for one, somewhere else.
Almost silently, he opened the door to the Library... There appeared to be nobody present, so he did what he had to to get someone there. He walked toward the desk, seeing as it was the only viable place to go, and slammed the katana down sideways in order to cause a loud thud which would hopefully draw attention...
He left the weapon there, and folded his arms while awaiting a response... Vocalization to something or someone that wasn't there wasn't among his favorite activities.

A split second of silence was followed by the sound of a mini-avalanch of novels and a rather loud yelp from the back of the shelf. Serafyna had been lost in a rather fascinating tale.. at least until the pecarious pile had toppled over her. She managed to crawl partway out the pile, glimpsing the customer before a second pile crushed her, followed by a series of dog-like yelps. A few seconds of silence ticked by, then the pile shifted and she surfaced, straightening her glasses. "S- s- sorry I'll be right there!" she called.
She quickly fixed the books into another precarious pile and weaved her way through the maze to the front of the store, smiling brightly. "S- sorry about that! So sorry! C- can I help you with something?" She fidgited shyly, her ears drooping slightly.

Greyhound turned his gaze toward the catastrophic collapse with a slightly amused expression, waiting for the inhabitant of the wreckage to finally emerge... When she did, he arched an eyebrow yet again. He had no problem with mutants... But there was something about this one.
Sighing, he closed his eyes and shook his head. "So, I suppose enhanced senses weren't part of the deal... Some real gruntwork letting those books fall on ya." He grinned slightly at his tasteless joke, continuing blandly, "I came acrossed this thing in a cave... It's in pretty good condition considering I found it in a giant spider coccoon thing..." He scratched his head, clearly il informed on the names and species of full mutant.
He paused for a moment, staring at Serafyna while he tried to figure out how to word his query. Upon figuring it out, he presumed it would be 'polite' to allow her to speak.

Serafyna smiled politly at his joke, but her eyes widened as he mentioned the spider. "Um... giant? As in about twice as tall as you with volvanic rock armour and course black or white fur?" she asked a little too excitedly. She didn't wait for an answer, digging through a pile of books before producing one. Flipping through it quickly she showed him a picture of the spider. "One of these right? Nimka?" She pressed the book into his hands and looked at it for a moment in wonder, then moved to the blade. "Where did you say this cave was located?" her earlier shyness was forgotten when confronted with knowledge and research as she studied the blade carefully.

He was a bit taken aback by the woman's sudden change of pace, but responded to the best of his ability. "I forget the exact location... It was in the Grand Canyons, not that far from Kiilk. Some old man who turned out to be part... Nimka, did you say it was? Lead me down there to search for some sort've 'god fruit' or something like that... This is what I found once we got to the tree. Ended up using it to kill both the nimka, and the mutant." He paused, deciging to explain now, "When I cut the mutant... His blood was green and acidic, as I assumed it would be. But, the skin changed... Turned normal. The blood changed to the usual human red as well... I figured that 'mother' put it in that casing to keep anything that little Mama's boy brought to her from actually being able to kill her."

The minute he said 'god fuit' her ears perked right up and she started searching. Everytime he said certain words she would suddenly change direction. "Ahhhh where did I put it!" she complained. "Come on I know I put it here... Aha-eek!" she had pulled a rather worn volume from a stack and spun triumphanty to show him, but tripped over another stack, knocking over the other stacks with a loud crash that earned a few stares from those passing outside the store. "...ow..."

Watched with a strange sort of amusement as she scoured the books... This was apparently organized to her. An organized chaos. He made no move to help her after she tripped, merely arching an eyebrow again as his snow white hair fell over the opposite eye. "Let me guess. It 'does' exist?" normally, he would've chided her about the fact he was here about the blade, and not agricultural research... But the way she got so excited about the opportunity actually gave him a rare feeling that he 'had' to indulge with atleast SOME measure of curiosity.

Her ears lay back in embarressment. "S- sorry!" she squeeked, managing to disentangle herself from the books. She opened to one in her hand, flicking through it. "Here we go. Fruit of the Gods, the blade Reithmauw...the legendary blade that once felled the great Sphynx of the Southern Lands...." she hummed and then moved to another pile to find yet another book. "Lets see... according to this record from Kiilk, the owner reported losing it in the Great Desert some time ago." Another book. "Hum.....the owners deceased now, so the blade is yours of course, though that would have been true either way since he never filed a renewal on the report after the expiry date..." she flushed in embarressment. "Oh! Im sorry! Your probably m- more interested in w- what it does aren't-t you..." she turned back to the other book. "Um... Fruit of the Gods. Blade made of Calkurn metal...." a third book entered her arms. "Yeah I thought so... Calkurn is known for its properties of being able to clean flesh of mutants and fruit. Its used in liquid form to clean the cities water, cure meats and so on. So anything you hunt with that blade is clean enough to eat... same with any fruit it cuts. Of course with some limitations like the size to mass ratios.." she smiled up at him nervously. "It doesnt work on water...the blade that is..." Another glance at the book, her face turned bright red. "Oh... w- well thats just myths and lores anyways.." she snapped the book shut as if refusing to share what other point about the blade she had read. "Th- that point w- w- wasn't p- proven anyway- ways"

Cyrus shot his gaze down to the blade, grinning widely as she relayed the information of it's fabled properties. Following a decrepit old mutant into a dank, musty cave filled with things that wanted to kill him... Resulted in the reclamation of a legend? How much luck could one man have? "Is there any place left from whence one could obtain the materials for Calkum metal..? Or has that too sunk into myth and legend?" He paused, sighing as she snapped the book shut. "Clearly, miss, this thing is 'surrounded' in myth and legend. Why not just read it out and get it over with?" His right hand reached upward to scratch the back of his head as he spoke, "I'd hate to have to dig through all these books to find that one again... Not exactly a big reader."

Her cheeks turned scarlet as she shifted uncomfortably. "Yes um... calkum is often used by the officials of the cities to clean the water... you blade supposedly um..." her voice dropped to a quick mumble. "Is mixed with an alloy of estiq which is rare and long sought after for its um...aphodisiac properties..." she squirmed, thoroughly embarressed now. Her tail curled around her leg shyly.

Greyhound couldn't help but grin as she relayed that information, sighing loudly as he stated, "So it makes my foes enjoy being cut, pretty much? That's a bit 'too' handy... But again, a stroke of intense luck. I'll have to ask the next old man that I cut in two if he enjoys it..." His eyes closed, and he loosed a small chuckle. "Or, for other reasons~.."
He opened his eyes once more, looking up to Seryfyna with a curious expression. It was clearly time for a subject change. "The Great Sphynx? That thing existed as well?"

Serafyna was mortified. Not what she had meant! Rather it was a libido booster for the wielder that lasted 12 hours after letting go of the blade, or supposidly. But it was too late to fix this error as he had been quick to change the subject and save her further mortification. "Ah yes u- um well supposedly. Its possible..." she started hunting through more books, avoiding eye contact.

Cyrus quickly dismissed that piece of information. The odds of it being true were very slim indeed... He instead resolved himself to staring at the distant wall of the shop, his thoughts wandering over completely inconsequential subjects as he awaited her retrieval of the correct volume...
It was in this time that he realized just how much the smell of old books made him content... Strange, but true nonetheless. What would have been an intense impatience, was a calm indifference now... Oddly enough, the scent calmed him. "If I may ask, how long has this shop been up and running for?"

Serafyna jumped slightly, knocking over a pile of books. "O- oh um... I c- came here about... 20 years ago...so...15 years?" she straightened the pile with a fond smile.

Cyrus curled his lips into a small halfsmile as he responded, "You've gathered quite a bit of knowledge for a mere fifteen years... Plus, you've been here since I was born. I'd say that's impressive, but then again, I don't know how long you've been upright and walkin' for either." he had avoided blatantly dropping the word 'mutant', for once. He didn't dislike mutants, but by all means he had a reason to... Residents of Kiilk had told him what befell his old home... And referenced the cloaked man repeatedly. It was from the cloaked man that he was given the vial of sand that hung around his neck. But, if this were any other mutant, he'd be about as nasty to her as he was to everyone else.
